Dreaming up a cultural tour around some of Europe and America’s finest Art Museums? No need to wait for the borders to open, because Queensland and Victoria are currently offering a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience some of the greatest artist’s in the world first-hand such as Van Gogh, Monet, Renoir and many more.

Brisbane

Exclusively partnering with the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York (The Met), Queensland’s Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) is hosting an exhibit showcasing ‘European Masterpieces’ including pieces from Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Turner and more.

Including 65 paintings, GOMA will be highlighting some of Western art history’s greatest movements which rarely leave their permanent display in New York. Beginning in the “1420s with a finely painted, emotionally charged altarpiece panel, The Crucifixion by Fra Angelico, and ending in 1919 with one of Monet’s late Water Lilies”, the exhibition showcases a unique experience to review 500 years of European art direct from the infamous Met collection, right here in Australia.

For the duration of the exhibit, GOMA will be further offering visitation to the ‘The Studio’ which will provide an array of experiences bringing the ‘European Masterpieces’ to life. Including immersive theatrical displays to transport you through the exhibition’s themes, as well as ‘draw from life’ stations to encourage the creation of your own work.

The exhibition will be on display until October 17 and is a ticketed event. To find out more info please visit GOMAs website. Better yet, turn this day trip to a overnight staycation with the GOMA x INCHCOLM all-inclusive package.
