Jay Martin – The Veggo Adventurer

There’s always plenty to see and do when you’re in Australia’s most populated city. The natural environment and local infrastructure make it an ideal venue for hosting both local and international events. You’ll never run out of things to do here. August and September this 2015 are no different with plenty on the agenda. If you’re in town over the next few months find out more about what’s happening and get amongst it!

Netball World Cup

From Friday the 7th to Sunday the 16th of August the 14th the sound of screaming fans will take over Sydney Olympic Park. You may not yet know the rules but like any other world cup competition the stakes are high, the fans are fanatical and the atmosphere will be awesome. Come and get a glimpse of Aussie culture and watch us defend the title we won in Singapore in 2011. The biggest chance of an upset comes from our buddies in New Zealand and England, but competitors from other parts of Europe, Africa, Asia, the Pacific Islands, and even the Caribbean will be vying for the crown.

Manly Relay for Life

If you’d prefer to be out in the action rather than spectating, consider joining a team at the Manly Relay for Life. This community event is tailored to help raise funds to support the Cancer Council’s research and support services. Anyone can take the challenge to jog or walk the track for 12 hours in relay style. There will be live bands to entertain the participants and supporters, as well as food stalls, a petting zoo and carnival rides. This year the Manly Relay takes place on September 5th. You can find more information about it here.

Festival of Mosman

From the 4th to the 13th of September the community in and around Mosman celebrate their ‘Harbour Life’. The festival highlights all the significant features of the area: their stunning beaches, lookouts, and national parks as well as the fine dining and shopping, vibrant local artists and friendly community spirit.

Lovers of the visual arts, music, art and craft, good food and wine, and the outdoors will be spoilt for choice. Find out more about it at the Festival of Mosman website.
