Top Foodie Instagrammers to follow in HK

Sarah Richard
Sarah Richard – World Wanderer

Hong Kong is full to the chocolate brim and bursting out of the cheesy sides of self-proclaimed ‘foodies’ aka a person that loves eating (er, all of us) has an iPhone (yup, again all of us) and is prepared to let ‘the camera eat first’ (ok, you’ve got us there – we want it in our bellies as quick as possible). It’s a rather strange phenomenon, but we can’t help but love watching our Instagram feed fill up with aesthetically pleasing pictures that we suspect look a lot better than they taste. But, we just can’t get enough, so to save your fingers scrolling aggressively through hashtags like #foodporn we’ve done the hard work for you and found the Hong Kong foodie Instagrams you absolutely must be following!

@danielhungryhk

The king of all of things edible around the city. If you had your eye on a new restaurant you can guarantee Daniel has been there first. His photos are top quality and look like they have come straight from a magazine (they haven’t, he is just a really talented photographer)

Daniel’s Must-Try Pick:
Daniel describes ‘Ted’s Lookout’ as A perfect spot to spend a fun night out or relax for a few after work drinks, and loved this Beef Patty with Gruyere Cheese, Bacon, Avocado, Cajun Onion, Homemade Animal Style Sauce and a Side of Truffle Fries

With nearly 100k followers behind her it’s no wonder Nicole Fung is one of HK’s top Instagrammers. She takes the kind of photos that make you want to eat your screen. You get that too right?

Nicole’s Must-Try Pick:
For the best BBQ Pork in Hong Kong, Nicole recommends Fu Sing in Causeway Bay. Known for their amazing range of dim sum and seafood dishes, the succulent, sweet, fall-apart-in-your-mouth good char-siu (BBQ pork in Cantonese) at Fu Sing, will keep you coming back for more.

353 Lockhart Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong

@greenqueenhk

If anyone can make a salad look good it’s greenqueen. Posting healthy food inspo daily along with some great recipes ideas she makes us want to become a better person. Well until we scroll down and see the next person’s dessert they have just devoured.

Green Queen’s Must-Try Pick:
For the vegetarians out there, Green Queen recommends stopping by the new talk-about-town shop, Fresca HK. Nestled on Hollywood road just a few steps from Central Escalator, Fresca HK offers a range of locally-grown and sourced ingredients that create a taste sensation so great you won’t be missing the meat!

‘Word of Mouth’ Instagrammers have the best jobs in the world – they actually get paid to eat! Running the website womguide.hk and getting invited to all the best place in Hong Kong sounds like a pretty sweet deal. Seems they are a witty lot too. We like you.

@afoodieworld

Hong Kong’s best food magazine rocks away from the pages as much as it does on them. Their feed will make you want to become a food writer, or a fat person. One or the other
