Into the Wild: Bali’s Best Hiking Trails with its Magnificent Scenery!

BALI’S BEST HIKING TRAILS

Not only beaches, but the island of the Gods also offers so many exciting places to explore – from the exotic culture, and ancient temples to the jaw-dropping hidden gems such as the waterfalls across the island. When in Bali, make sure to plan some great adventures and check out the best hiking trails on the island!

Here are some of the best hiking trails that we’ve put together.

Mount Batur

Located in Kintamani – North Bali, the Mount Batur hike is one of the most popular and fun sunrise trekking experiences you can go on in Bali. The trek to Mount Batur is too difficult, a guided trek that takes you up to an active volcano with a summit elevation of 1,700 meters above sea level.

Catch the magnificent views of the sunrise from the top of the mountain so you’ll need to wake up early in the morning to catch this amazing view. There is a guide there who will explain everything you need to know before you go!

Mount Abang

Mount Abang, also known as Gunung Abang, is located in the Bangli regency, approximately 65 kilometres from Kuta beach. It is situated in the middle of the island and is 2,152 meters above sea level – marked as the third highest mountain in Bali.

In this unique adventure, you will explore the highest jungle mountain in Bali and you will trek the jungle within Mount Abang. Don’t miss out on a visit to a very unique temple where it is located in the jungle, on top of the mountain. This destination will offer you the best sunrise view and you will also be able to see the magnificent view of Lake Batur and Mount Batur.

For another great adventure in Bali, you will need to add Mount Batukaru to your bucket list. Located in the Bedugul volcanic area which is 2,275 meters above sea level, it has the most unique rainforest mountain trek experience in Bali. This rainforest is hidden away from the populated areas, which is why it is perfect for travellers who want to escape from crowded touristic areas.

As this destination is purely undiscovered, this mountain area offers tourists a combination of nature, culture and breath-taking panoramic scenery that you can’t miss. This place is highly spiritual and sacred where it has a Hindu temple called “Pura Luhur Batukaru”.

Mount Agung

We always keep the best for last! This one is the most popular hiking destination in Bali – Mount Agung, where it is the highest and the holiest mountain in Bali as it is believed to be the home of the Gods. Mount Agung is located 3,142 meters above sea level and can be summited by hikers about 5 to 7 hours from the Besakih Temple starting point and 3 to 4 hours from the Pasar Agung Temple starting point. If you are a real adventure lover, this trek will be the best choice for you.

Make sure you get a local guide when you’re going to hike this mountain to get well-briefed on the do’s and don’ts during the trek.
