Woolloomooloo’s Best Restaurants

I’m a frequent visitor to Sydney and like most people; I tend to eat out a lot while on holiday. Since I prefer to be within walking distance of the best nightlife, I usually stay around the Woolloomooloo area.
Being such a trendy and vibrant suburb there are tons of great restaurants to try there. Here is a shortlist of some of my favourites:
China Doll
Shop 4, 6 Cowper Wharf Road, Woolloomooloo NSW Australia
This modern Asian restaurant resides half way out along Finger Wharf. Dine to the sparkling backdrop of the Sydney skyline while sitting alongside the gorgeous waters of Woolloomooloo Bay. The menu offers delicious Asian cuisine not just from China but also Japan, Hong Kong and South-East Asia.
Serving sizes are more generous here than many other high-end Sydney restaurants. Food and drink prices are a little higher than average, but nothing out of the norm for a restaurant of this standard.
Puntino Trattoria
41 Crown St, Woolloomooloo Sydney
If you like Italian food, then you absolutely must check out Puntino Trattoria on Crown Street. Their range of amazing wood-fired pizzas and scrumptious artisan pasta has something for everybody. Let the relaxed atmosphere take you away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
Prices here won’t burn a hole in your wallet. Mains cost around AUD$20-25 and if you’re not super hungry one of their authentic and delicious wood-fired pizzas is enough for 2 to share.
Aki’s Indian Restaurant
1/6 Cowper Wharf, Rd, Wolloomooloo, NSW
Another one on Finger Wharf, Aki’s Indian offers a selection of modern Indian dishes like you’ve never seen before. Delicious interpretations of all your favourite Indian food will leave you with a big smile on your face.
The service here is impeccable, and the surroundings and view from the restaurant is worth the additional cost over your typical Indian hangout. I’m a big fan of Indian cuisine and Aki’s is one of the best fine-dining Indian restaurants I have been lucky enough to dine at, anywhere in the world.
