Guo Pei: Fashioning Imagination
From historical to contemporary, the M+, Hong Kong’s global museum of visual culture in the West Kowloon Cultural District, presents “Guo Pei: Fashioning Imagination.” Guo Pei is an icon of the fashion world, merging ancient Chinese techniques with fantastical modern narratives. Her exhibitions are less traditional showcases and more immersive experiences, showcasing Guo’s key collections and early designs. As you walk through, you’ll encounter masterpieces such as the iconic canary yellow gown Rihanna wore at the iconic Met Gala, among other pieces that have cemented Guo Pei’s status as a visionary in global haute couture. The exhibition will also feature a talk by Guo Pei, and two screenings of Yellow is Forbidden, a documentary following Guo’s journey through the predominantly Western world of haute couture.

Fashion Hong Kong Runway Show
The 2024 edition of Fashion Hong Kong at CENTRESTAGE introduces the theme ‘In the Mood for Fashion.’ The event will merge the fashion and film industries, with selected designers collaborating with a Hong Kong film director throughout the project. Festivities begin with the Fashion Hong Kong Designer Showcase at the Palace Museum on 3 September, followed by the Fashion Hong Kong Runway Show from 4-7 September at HKCEC. The top four applicants will present new collections at the Runway Show, while the top ten finalists will showcase 1-2 pieces at the Designer Showcase. This exciting fashion exhibition is the ultimate networking event and a must for those who follow the pulse of Asian trends.
