Open Skies & No Set Pace: Out 2 Lunch Melbourne 2026

Melbourne’s event calendar is picking up again this May, with Out 2 Lunch Festival set to take over Flemington Racecourse on 2 May 2026.

Led by FISHER, the lineup stacks up quickly with names like Sarah Story, Little Fritter, Azzecca, Juicy Romance, TwofaceD, Richy Penny, Greg 99, and Shimmy. Expect a full-day run of open-air sets that kick off early, build fast, and don’t really wind down when the music stops.

You’ve got the ticket. You’ve got the plan. Now sort out where you land after. That is where Ovolo Melbourne comes in.

Along the Yarra in the CBD, Ovolo Melbourne keeps you connected. Flemington is a quick trip, and the city is right there when you want to keep going. Inside, everything is designed with a sense of rhythm. Rooms blend rich materials like velvet and chrome with bold, music-inspired details, creating a space that feels both elevated and easy to settle into. Beyond the hotel, the neighbourhood brings its own energy, from Chapel Street’s mix of boutiques and late-night spots to Prahran Market and a lineup of cocktail bars that reward a bit of wandering.

From now through 31 May, there is even more reason to stay close. George Calombaris brings his Auto Greek Pop-Up to the hotel, inspired by recent time spent in Athens. The menu leans into bold, new-wave Greek flavours, fresh, vibrant, and designed to share, with many dishes under $30 or a full $80 feed-me experience if you are settling in.

Pair it with something from the bar, Metaxa or Tsipouro cocktails, or Greek wines like Assyrtiko and Xinomavro, and it quickly turns into more than just a stop between plans.

A few streets away, Laneways by Ovolo offers a different entry point into the same night. Tucked into Melbourne’s laneway grid, it leans into the city’s after-dark personality. Step outside and you are already surrounded by small bars, late-night kitchens, and places that do not really advertise themselves.

For those heading to Out 2 Lunch, it becomes less about just attending the festival and more about how the whole day comes together. Start in the city, head to Flemington, then come back to somewhere that still feels connected to the energy without the chaos.

In Melbourne, one plan rolls into the next without much effort.
