After a long two year wait, Vivid is finally back on Sydney’s event calendar – bigger and better than ever with over 60 installations. From the 27th of May to the 18th of June, watch as the city lights up and transforms the Harbour City into an illuminating fusion of creativity, innovation and technology.

1-25 Harbour St
The Floating World, found within the Darling Quarter, captures a combination of ‘three shimmering worlds’. ‘Combined in a 15-minute loop, explore the wonder of imaginary places amplified by revolutionary spatial audio rendering system’.
Brought to you by renowned local musicians DJ Peewee Ferries, Ranbow Chan, and Jagwa Ma in partnership with visual artists Ancient Worlds, Carla Zimbler, and BABEKÜHL – ‘to bring you an ever-changing sonic painting’.
11 Harbour St
Bump in the night’ in Tumbalong Park this winter. Designed and created with families in mind, explore a ‘peaceful campsite with muffled snores’ and see how many campers you can wake up! The more you wake, the brighter the tents light up.
Walsh Bay
Surround yourself in bubbles as you step onto a ‘floating boardwalk that weaves between 150 larger-than-life illuminated spheres’. The Ephemeral Oceanic display offers an experience like no other – sitting on the harbour, it creates the illusion of one giant bubble bath.
Circular Quay and the Rocks
Over the three weeks of Vivid, Sydney’s most recognised landmarks, the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge see’s Ramesh Nithiyendran’s installation join them in the iconic view. The ‘monumental multi-limbed cacophonous avatar’ makes its presence clear as it towers over you with dramatic lighting and sound.
Darling Harbour
Setting the scene with ‘the largest liquid and light show in Australian history’, the ‘Sydney Infinity’ ‘uses technology never before seen in Australia to take light artistry and aqueous choreography to a whole new level’. Imagine hundreds of multi coloured and textured fountains light up the harbour in an aqueous choreography unique to Vivid 2022.
Ovolo Woolloomooloo Sunset Cruise
Ovolo Woolloomooloo is turning up it’s lights and unveiling a VIP Vivid experience. Discover the Vivid lights all in one with an exclusive harbour cruise onboard it’s luxury bridge deck cruiser, Suellen. Feel vibrant and take in all of the lights as you enjoy a range of cocktails and indulge on a decadent selection of gourmet canapés onboard. Running from 27th May to 18th June, the 90-minute cruise will pass dazzling displays at iconic locations around the harbour including Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney Opera House, Fort Denison, Garden Island and Cockatoo Island.
