You can probably tell from the name that Commune is a trendy co-working space aimed at the creative industry. Their co-working hub in Erskineville is all about exposed brick and industrial furniture, which suits the hipster surroundings perfectly.
Commune recently took on additional space at an old warehouse in Waterloo where they host pop up exhibitions, yoga classes and foodie events like the Vegan Night Markets – so it’s not all work and no play at these premises.
Membership starts from $100 per week on a part time basis or you can purchase a day pass for $44 that includes a break out space and meeting room for hosting clients.

Fishburners

Calling themselves the place ‘where startups start’, Fishburners is a not-for-profit co-working space that was created to give techy start ups and small businesses a leg up.
As one of the cheapest co-working spaces in Sydney it’s also one of the busiest and there’s an application process to get your foot in the door. Selected members, however, get not just a desk but introductions to business connections, informative talks and workshops, free legal advice and complimentary beverages.
A shared desk starts from $300 per month and includes all the Red Bull you could want for.

Perfect for globetrotters, Spaces is an international network of European-chic co-working spaces. Originating from Amsterdam, the network extended to Sydney this year when it launched an airy 1500 square metre hub in hipster-central Surry Hills.
All of the stylish Spaces include coffee baristas and clever flexible workspaces ranging from a quiet desk to large tables and cosy coffee corners. They also offer additional services such as mail handling, laundry and IT support – so you get all the perks of being part of a big business even if your business only has you in it!

Hub Sydney may not look as stylish as some of the co-working spaces previously mentioned but it does have ping pong, hammocks and a nap space so it’s winning on the chilling front.
Situated in Darlinghurst, Hub is in a handy location for guests of Ovolo Woolloomooloo who need a place to host a team meeting or make some private phone calls.
Hot desk memberships start from $300 per month and rather handily gives you access to any of Hub’s workspaces in Australia as well as partner locations in London, Singapore and New York. They also offer a 1 day free trial for those who want a test run.

Lo Lounge at Ovolo Woolloomooloo
So this is going to sound a little like self-promotion but seriously we’d be doing you a disservice if we didn’t mention the stylish and free facilities at Ovolo Woolloomooloo.
The Lo Lounge is a cavernous, high-ceilinged, sexy networking space that is available to Ovolo guests 24 hours a day. Whether you want to curl up in a pink suede chair for a call or gather around a Scandi-chic games area for a catch up with your team, the Lo Lounge has a corner for everyone.
