What’s to wine about being stranded on an island with Mister Percy?

Kicking off the summer session season in Sydney, we are stranding ourselves on an island and we are taking Mister Percy with us! Over three days, from Friday 1 November until Sunday 3 November, we are hauling a juicy booty of Mister Percy’s finest fermented grape varietal’s, come hell or high water, across Sydney’s treacherous harbour to Clark Island where X marks the spot of this year’s Wine Island.

Popping up for one long weekend, Mister Percy’s Bar will be serving up a range of taste bud tickling tannins. Taking inspiration from the Mediterranean Arc, Mister Percy’s Wine Curator Shun Eto has selected a suite of wines suitable for all on this pre summer celebration.

Since everyone loves some bubbles, NV Bandini Prosecco (Vento, Italy) will be available for a refreshingly delicate and complex drop with fruity notes of peach and green apple, with hints of acacia and wisteria.

Crowd summer favourite rosé will be pouring from 2018/2017 Debussy Rêverie Rosé, Provence, France (Magnum + 750ml). Grown in the Pays d’Oc region of South of France, it boasts a bouquet of elegant red fruit nose and raspberry aromas. Light and refreshing on the palate, this rosé features lots of juicy berries with a hint of fresh watermelon.

For all you savy b lovers out there, there one is for you. A 2018 Cullen Mangan Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc (Margaret River, WA) brings a tropical zing to your Wine Island day away, with notes of honeydew melon, papaya and citrus.

If white wine simply isn’t your thing, we’ve got a red tipple to wet your whistle. The 2017 Save Our Souls Pinot Noir (Mornington Peninsula, VIC) served chilled offers a fragrant aroma of red berries and spice, lightened by pops of raspberry and cherry.

Mister Percy’s Bar isn’t the only booze, schmooze or food-based treasure that awaits at this once a year drop in the harbour. A grand selection of Australia and International wineries and purveyors will be joining Mister Percy in setting up shop in an island hut for the weekend, see the full list here, while Chur will be flipping burgers and serving loaded fries, with dessert provided by N2 Gelato. For something a little swankier and a lot more Aussie summer, Mimosa Rock Oysters will be shucked by the dozens.

Check out the website for all details and rally the crew with a choice of two sessions each day (10am-2pm and 4pm-8pm).
