WorldPride Sydney 2023 has been painting the city streets rainbow, and at Ovolo Hotels we’ve been proudly supporting with our own festivities.
We’ve already gone big with our fabulous Mardi Gras recovery brunch in collaboration with Virgin Australia, our MAC cosmetic glow up stations and our stunning Drag concierge bringing a splash of camp to our guest experience!
But the season isn’t over yet! So we’ve rounded up the best events and experiences in Sydney, where you can join the celebration and explore the importance of LGBTQ+ pride in its final week!
Sydney WorldPride Human Rights Conference (Wed Mar 1 - Fri Mar 3)
Sydney WorldPride is hosting the largest LGBTQIA+ Human Rights Conference ever to be held in the southern hemisphere.
A three-day exploration of LGBTQIA+ human rights, the conference will be immersive and fast-paced, taking place in multiple spaces across three levels of Sydney’s International Convention Centre (ICC) and taking attendees a journey from where we are now to our vision for the future.

Blak & Deadly: The First Nations Gala Concert (Thurs Mar 2)
Blak & Deadly is the only WorldPride Official event at the iconic Sydney Opera House, and will be hosted by ‘Faboriginal’ comedian Steven Oliver and will feature performances from music duo Electric Fields, award-winning artist Mo’Ju and Ru Paul’s Drag Race Down Under star Kween Kong.
Alongside this, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Sydney Philharmonia Choirs will provide a stunning addition to this incredible line-up of First Nations LGBTQIA+ talent and artistry.

Mardi Gras Laugh Out Proud (Fri Mar 3)
Off the back of three sold-out years, Laugh Out Proud – the Queer comedy gala – is one of the most sought-after tickets of the festival calendar.
Gather the gaggle and assemble at the Enmore Theatre for a night of guaranteed laughs. The night will be serve a merry-go-round of the crème de la crème from the queer comedy including Bob Downe, Dazza and Keif, Rosie Piper, Rudy-Lee Taurus, and Spankie Jackzon.

Bondi Beach Party (Sat Mar 4)
For one day only, the jewel of Sydney will become the city’s hottest club for 12,000 people!
Set at the edge of Bondi Beach, starring pop sensation Nicole Scherzinger, and featuring an all-Australian DJ line-up including dameeeela, Jarred Baker, Jacqui Cunningham, DJ Charlie Villas and DJ Dan Murphy. You’ll need a lifesaver to recover from seven hours of fabulous partying with the global queer community.

Pride March (Sun Mar 5)
Be part of history as and close off the WorldPride with a significant march across the Sydney Harbour Bridge for global equality. This is a celebration of all that has been achieved, with consciousness of the work still to be done not only in Australia, but for all LGBTQIA+ people around the world.
Join hands with your friends, your allies and your family – blood and chosen – to draw strength and joy from the communities that surrounds you on this stunning morning on Sydney Harbour.
