Man Mo Café
Burrowed among the picturesque antiques and curious stalls along Cat Street Market is a fusion dimsum restaurant where East meets West. Taking its name from the nearby traditional temple on Hollywood Road, Man Mo Café specialises in updating classic dimsum dishes with eclectic European ingredients such as truffle brie and tomato mozzarella dumplings, as well as foie gras xiao long bao and Bolognese buns.
Duddells
Conceived as a cultural destination for creative and artistic types, Duddell’s hosts a year round art programme full of exciting exhibitions as well as a Michelin starred restaurant. The uber stylish décor is a perfect place to tuck into a menu full of surprising takes on dimsum including spring rolls with shrimp and black truffle. Once the weekends comes Duddell’s also offers an all you can eat dimsum brunch perfectly paired with free flow Veuve Clicquot.
Hello Kitty Chinese Cuisine
Almost as soon as this super cute restaurant opened its door, images of its Hello Kitty themed dimsum flooded social media and took the online world by storm. Hello Kitty Chinese Cuisine is an homage to the much loved Sanrio cat, with every dumpling, bun and even rice dishes mimicking Hello Kitty’s face or her signature hair bow. A great choice for the whole family, be sure to be ready for a queue at this popular spot.
Super Star Seafood
Way before Hello Kitty Chinese Cuisine opened, Hong Kong’s local dimsum spots were catering to customers keen for cute cuisine. Super Star Seafood is a chain spread across the city known for its fresh and succulent abalone, lobsters and hairy crabs but also for its range of adorable animal shaped buns. Sweet and savoury choices include penguin shaped prawn dumplings, marshmallow rabbits and ladybug shaped BBQ pork buns.
