Tai Kwun

Formerly Central Police Station, Tai Kwun is now dedicated to cultural heritage and arts. Located 3 min away from Ovolo Central, this is the best place to experience Hong Kong’s colonial past through the different restaurants, café, and exhibitions. These heritage buildings offer artists and organisations to host events, collaborative and interactive programs, and art shows, including photo, film, music, and more.

After discovering one of their exhibitions (https://www.taikwun.hk/en/), enjoy a delicious lunch at The Chinese Library. They have a large offer of Chinese dishes, dim sum, and vegetarian dishes.

That’s for our shopping addict!

IFC is a top shopping place that offers everything from international luxury goods and sophisticated designer stores to local fine dining and gourmet groceries. Walk 15 minutes toward Hong Kong’s waterfront and you will find the IFC Mall.

After a long afternoon of shopping, grab your favourite tea at ChiCha SanChen and enjoy the view from the IFC Rooftop Garden (Escalators to P4)!

Mid-Levels

Staying at Ovolo Central also means that you are one street away from Mid-Levels. In this trendy but calm neighbourhood, located just between Central and the highest points of the island, you will discover museums, authentic cafes, and even local wildlife!

First, the easiest and most enjoyable way to get there is to ride the iconic Mid-Levels escalator. You may take it from the bottom, in front of the Central Market, or, just 3 min away from Ovolo Central, at Hollywood Road and Shelley intersection.

Then walk in the direction of the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens. It is one of the world’s oldest botanical gardens, and in this 5.6 hectares of green space, you will encounter flamingos, orangutans, reptiles, and even Chinese alligators.

Then get lost between bamboos and bauhinia flowers in the magnificent garden.

As part of the famous “heritage triangle” (along with Tai Kwun and PMQ), Central Market is less than 10 minutes away from Ovolo Central. The building shows a typical Hong Kong Bauhaus architecture. It is dedicated to the community, the culture, the heritage also innovation due to a big part of the building offering event spaces designed for exhibitions and performances.

Stroll around the shops and food stalls and grab whatever catches your eye first! Not sure where to start? Try Wako Sake Central (Shops G10 & G12) and enjoy their large offer of Japanese dishes such as sashimi, yakitori, and more.

Finish with a sweet touch and go to Mammy Pancake (Shop 242B, 2/F), and taste typical egg waffles!
