Renowned DJ and music producer Roger Sanchez recently embarked on a creative retreat at Ovolo The Valley in Brisbane. Nestled in the heart of Fortitude Valley, our vibrant hotel became the perfect sanctuary for Roger as he prepared for his performance at The Prince Consort Venue.
Upon his arrival, Roger was greeted by myself, and the team who led him to our epic Rockstar Suite, a haven of eclectic design and modern luxury. The suite’s bold decor and artistic flair immediately sparked his creativity. Over the next four days, Roger immersed himself in the ethos of the suite, and worked tirelessly on a special edit of his famous single “Again”.
The Head of Entertainment and Travel at The Prince Consort, where Roger was set to perform, noted how the hotel’s unique design deeply influenced the artist. “Roger was really inspired by the eclectic design,” he shared. You can imagine how happy this made us! He found the environment so stimulating that he hosted numerous podcasts while at the hotel and spent hours in our Library sipping on Bar KazBa concoctions!
The Library, with its cosy nooks and plush velvets, became Roger’s favourite spot, as it is for many. He often retreated there to unwind, read, and gather his thoughts. The tranquil atmosphere provided the perfect backdrop for his creative process, allowing him to delve deeper into his music.
Throughout his stay, Roger’s presence brought a buzz of excitement to Ovolo The Valley. Guests and staff alike were thrilled to see the legendary DJ in their midst, and his impromptu podcast sessions added an extra layer of excitement to our hotel’s vibrant atmosphere.
As his stay came to an end, Roger left the hotel not only with a fresh edit of “Again” but also with a renewed sense of inspiration. His time with us had been a perfect blend of creativity, relaxation, and connection, leaving a lasting impression on both him and the hotel. Regardless of being a famous artist or not, this is something we aspire for all of our guests.
