And the meetings keep rolling in – and you’re out of ideas on where to go. Lugging your laptop around, trekking through the alleys of Hong Kong desperately trying to find a café doesn’t sound too appealing does it. What makes it worse – it’s not a morning meeting! You’re first meeting is scheduled in the late afternoon with a few more later on in the night.
If you find yourself with the flexibility of arranging the place for your rendezvous – go out and explore another district! Let’s kick off with a favorite: Western District
Only a true Aussie will know how to celebrate Australia Day.
So if you are one – then decipher this:
If ya goin down to OZ you’d better have a big breaky in the mornin, get some toast and vegemite for starters, and since its gonna be stinka yous should head down to the beach for a dip, don’t forget the aeroguard and sunburn lotion, it’s gonna be bloody hot.
And if ya go swimin, don’t go out to far, theres been a few noahs arks around.
after our dip well head home for a Barbie, we`ll fire up some bangers and little boys and throw a couple shrimps on too, I’ve got the esky full of VB as well so we`ll be right.
Answer – so how close were you?
If you were in Australia, you’d probably start out the day with a big breakfast – obviously with some vegemite, butter and cheese! Since it’d be hot, you’d head down to the beach for a swim and a tanning session. But you’d be extra careful not to swim too far because those great white sharks are lurking around the corner. After your swim, you’d head home for a barbeque. Obviously with cans of VB in the cooler waiting to be consumed. And that’s only the beginning of your Australia Day.
But then you wake up. And realize you’ve just spent 5 minutes day dreaming about how’d you spend Australia Day in a place that isn’t down under.
Well DON’T YOU FRET. Hong Kong’s got plenty of aAussies here who are more than willing to split a VB with you (maybe not actually) and celebrate Australia Day!

Australia Chamber of Hong Kong has its annual Australia Day luncheon at the Island Shangri-La, kicking off with cocktails at noon and lunch at 12:30. If you’re feeling a bit classy, then you better reserve your spot soon!
