Tai Kwun Contemporary's BOOKED: Hong Kong Art Book Fair 2024 is returning for its sixth edition, for three days from 30 August to 1 September 2024, on all floors of JC Contemporary, Tai Kwun. The art book fair will once again be welcoming local, regional, and international exhibitors—including publishers, artists, booksellers, and organisations—from Hong Kong, Macau, Mainland China, as well as Japan, Korea, Indonesia, United Kingdom, United States, and elsewhere. Featuring more than 110 artists, publishers, organisations, and booksellers, BOOKED: Hong Kong Art Book Fair will be presenting special displays at the intersection of art and publishing, together with a wide range of public programming such as talks, workshops, and performances. In particular, there will be an Artists’ Book Library special project that focus on how artists playfully raise questions about systems and formats organising and circulating knowledge, such as dictionaries, calendars, phrase books, and manuals.
Fitting the pitches and rhythmic contours of Cantonese to a musical melody is challenging enough with only a single voice. What happens when composers and lyricists have to contend with multiple vocal lines, each vying for attention? Veteran lyricist Chris Shum and conductor Leon Chu deconstruct the delicate art of Cantonese choral singing. Musical examples will feature the CU Chorus, which presented its “Tribute to Joseph Koo” concert in 2014 conducted by the composer himself.

Kwai Fung Hin Art Gallery is a must-visit on your tour of Tai Kwun. Specialising in 20th-century French art and modern and contemporary art in Asia, the gallery helps promote cross-cultural artists and East-West artistic dialogues with in-depth exhibitions and publications throughout the year.
Tai Kwun Tours
Explore the sprawling compound with a heritage-guided tour of Tai Kwun. The tour is the perfect introduction to this iconic Hong Kong heritage site with a 45-minute tour around Tai Kwun’s Heritage Storytelling Spaces and other heritage highlights. The venue also offers educational tours, self-guided tours and special tours during exhibition periods which delve into creative concepts and the artists behind the works.
Touch Gallery
Touch Gallery launched in 2018 as a specialised ceramics gallery and has since expanded to form three independent contemporary art spaces. The gallery is an exciting exhibition of ceramic works and contemporary art pieces, showcasing the works of international and local Hong Kong artists.
Pazta
Located on the Parade Ground of Tai Kwun, Pazta is a must for all Italian food lovers. The restaurant, set in a charming open terrace, offers the perfect spot to soak up the atmosphere of Tai Kwun while dining on a feast of traditional Italian dishes from burrata and carpaccio to duck ragu, squid ink linguine and truffle risotto, finished off with Italian coffee, espresso tiramisu or rum-soaked angel cake. Madame Fu
