Za Za Ta is Set to Spice Up The Valley

Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley will be gaining a culinary resident of a whole new flavour with the opening Za Za Ta Bar & Kitchen, bringing the soulful vibe of Tel Aviv to Queensland.

Construction is well under way as we make an Ovolo dream come true – elevating the experience of our whimsical oasis, Ovolo The Valley, by creating an even more magical space for people to encounter the exotic as they experience a rich mix of soulful and dynamic Middle Eastern cuisine.

Spearheaded by Israeli-born Executive Chef Roy Ner (ex-Nour and Aria, NSW) alongside head chef Dario Manca (ex-Pilu at Freshwater, NSW) and Director of Food and Beverage at Ovolo The Valley, Jared Thibault, Za Za Ta pays homage to the spice blend za’atar, showcasing a playful and bold take on the flavours of the Middle East throughout the food and drinks menu.

‘Wine & Shine’ Series

We apologise in advance to all the other regions, but we’ve been having a bit of a love affair with Southern Italy recently. At Mister Percy, we hosted a vino cena (find out more to know what that means ;), and the favourite vino of the night was the 2015 Scala Ciro Rosso from Calabria, using a native grape called Galioppo. Shun, our own Japanese Jesus & Group Wine Curator (@shuneto) gives us the inside scoop on the wine, how to pair it, and how to impress your date. Find out more!

Bet You’ve Never Had an Art Pop-up in Your Penthouse…

Here to disrupt, delight and excite, Ovolo’s oldest resident The Woolstore 1888 Darling Harbour opened its art filled, historic doors, to welcome a new generation of 21 contemporary Australian artists.

In collaboration with contemporary art gallery MARS and Sydney based arts consultancy Soda Arts earlier this month, guests and visitors were able to discover Ovolo’s artistic side through an eclectic mix of artwork and installations throughout The Woolstore 1888’s lobby and premier suites.

You know we’re all about doing things differently, and although the exhibition is over, we’re pleased to share ‘Pop-up in Penthouse’ snaps for those who couldn’t make it to The Woolstore 1888 this time.
